John K. KrenzkeRacine- John Karl Krenzke, 89, passed away Friday, December 28, 2007 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare after a long battle with many health problems.He was born on December 31, 1917 and was a lifetime resident of Racine, except when he served overseas in the United States Army in World War II. John married LaVerne Olson at Grace Lutheran Church on June 26, 1947. He was in the real estate and insurance business for a number of years. John was also employed at Horlick Malted Milk Co., Motoronics, and Easy-Up in Racine. He played the violin and was a member of the Racine Symphony Orchestra. John enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and watching Packer games.John is survived by his wife of over 60 years, LaVerne; children, Donna (Marvin) Andersen, John E. (Vicky) Krenzke and Thomas Krenzke; four grandchildren, Kristen (Steven) Schlicht of West Bend, Erik Andersen of Racine, John R. and Amy Krenzke of Evanston, IL; two great grandchildren, Katelyn and Joshua Schlicht of West Bend; sister, Judith Borgardt; sister in law and brother in law, Shirley and Tom Reshan and by our dog Fozzie, who supervised John's care everyday. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Amanda (Mertens) Krenzke; step mother Elsie (Natzke) Krenzke; brother and sister in law, David and Grace Krenzke; four sisters and brothers in law, Edith and Charles Stege, Sylvia and Robert DeGroot, Ellen and Melvin Jensen, Jane and Robert Gaede and brother in law, William Borgardt.A memorial service for John will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 3700 Washington Avenue on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment will take place in Southern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the Church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial to Grace Lutheran Church, Racine Lutheran High School, or Concordia Lutheran School have been suggested. A thank you to the doctors and nurses at Wheaton Franciscan for their special care.
