Racine – John Harold Bleeke, 87, after a full and very happy life, was born to eternal life by God's grace through Jesus Christ our Savior at Bay Pointe at the Atrium, Wednesday, February 1, 2017.John was born in Milwaukee on May 18, 1929 to Rev. Henry E. and Ida (nee, Tieman) Bleeke. He married the former Audrey Manthey in June 1952 and was blessed with three children, Anne (James) Wills, Amy (James) Lesnjak and Jonathan (Nancy) Bleeke; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. John is further survived by sister-in-law, Corliss Bleeke; a nephew and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Bleeke; parents; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Milton Bleeke, and Richard and Florence Bleeke; sister, Evelyn Rahardt; and his nephew and godson, Joel Bleeke. John served four years as a teacher/principal at Redeemer Lutheran School in Denver, CO, 35 years, 12 as principal at Racine Lutheran High School, and four years as Instructor at Concordia University. Among his services outside the classroom, John served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps, nine years on the board of LCFS, nine years on the WISAA board, and over thirty years as an officer at St. John's Lutheran Church. Funeral Services for John will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, corner of Kewaunee and Erie Streets, on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jack Gilbert officiating. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday evening, February 3, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until time of the service at 10 a.m. Memorials may be directed to Racine Lutheran High School or St. John's Lutheran Church.
