RACINE – Jerome J. "Jerry" Nuter, 79, passed away peacefully in hospice at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Jerry was born in Racine on January 1, 1936 to John and Mary (nee, Kubatski) Nuter, who preceded him in death. Jerry grew up in Racine, graduating from St. Catherine's High School before attending Loras College in Dubuque, IA and earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He later earned a Master's Degree in Sociology. Jerry met the love of his life, Gwendolyn Marie Dolphin. The pair were married on July 11, 1959 and she preceded him in death. On June 24, 2006, Jerry married Judy Corrigan. He was a Racine Adult Probation Officer for over 30 years and a Racine County Sherriff's Department volunteer for over 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the Racine Lion's Club and an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish. Jerry and Gwenn had three children, David (Jessica Hillman) Nuter, John Nuter and Angela (Trey) Estes; grandchildren, Ashley (Stewart) Russ, Alexander (Alexandra) Nuter, Asher Estes, Cai Estes and Gwendolynn Estes; and his great-grandchildren, Forest and Franklin Russ. Jerry is also survived by other relatives and many, many close friends. The Mass of Christian Burial for Jerry will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, 6400 Spring Street, on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Terry Huebner. Entombment will take place at Holy cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials may be directed to Wheaton Franciscan Hospice, Wisconsin Humane Society, Alzheimer's Association or the Racine Lion's Club.
