RACINE – Jerome E. Lohnis, 82, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Jerry was born in Pewaukee, WI on August 10, 1932 to Edward and Marie (nee, cull) Lohnis. On January 3, 1953 in Dubuque, IA, Jerry married the former Rita Corbett. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 until 1951 in Okinawa and Japan during the Korean War. Jerry retired from Young Radiator Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. Survivors include his wife, Rita Lohnis; children, Daniel Lohnis, Becky Chacon, Karen Vaughn and Lynn (Steven) Meyer; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and two sisters. Jerry is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. In keeping with Jerry's wishes, a private family memorial gathering was held.
