Obituary

Jeanette Lenart (née Eschmann) - Sturtevant, WI — Age 105

Jeanette Lenart, born on October 20, 1920, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Leopold and Emma Eschmann, passed away peacefully at the remarkable age of 105. A lifelong resident of Racine County, Jeanette witnessed over a century of change, always embracing life with grace, humor, and resilience.

She married the love of her life, John Lenart, on January 25, 1947, at Grace Baptist Churchin Racine. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home, raising two children, Judith and Richard.

Jeanette dedicated her professional career to the Savings and Loan industry, where she retired from Associated Bank as operations supervisor. Her work ethic, attention to detail, and leadership earned her the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Outside of work, Jeanette lived life to the fullest. She was a member of a monthly card club, where she played sheepshead with friends and family. Bingo was another favorite where she played twice a week with friends at the Labor Center. She also enjoyed bowling, and trips to the casino—especially the slot machines. Her love of reading was lifelong, with a particular fondness for the suspenseful novels of James Patterson. Game shows were a daily delight, and she rarely missed an episode of her favorites.

Traveling was another passion, especially with her beloved sister Leone. Together, they explored new places, made lasting memories, and shared countless laughs.  A close, strong family bond (John's brother Stan marrying her sister Leone and his brother Joe marrying their best friend Juanita) made annual family vacations to Bodin's cottage in Woodruff, WI, along with nieces and nephews, extra special. Jeanette's stories from these adventures were often retold with sparkle and humor, reflecting her zest for life.

She is survived by her devoted children, Judith Lenart and Richard (Lori) Lenart, who carry forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and joy, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanette was  preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, brothers Edward(Lydia), William (Fran), Arnold (Freda), Fred (Lil), Otto (Evie), her sister Leone, brothers-in-law Stanley "Tarz" and Joseph and sister-in-law Juanita. Though she outlived many of her peers, she remained deeply connected to her family and community.

Jeanette's warmth and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to resilience, joy, and the enduring power of family.

Jeanette's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Robin Way for the care and compassion shown to her.
