Obituary
Jean D. Nelson, 84, passed away at Shorelight Memory Care on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
Jean was born in Racine on August 9, 1941, to the late Hilmer "Curly" and Mary (nee, Treiber) Rubeck. On July 9, 1960, she married Raymond Nelson, celebrating 65 years of marriage. Jean worked with Ray at Erickson-Nelson Services, doing administrative work for both Mac's Towing and Erickson Ambulance.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond; sons, David Nelson and Kurt (Lori) Nelson; grandchildren, Kristen (Vince) Venturini, Kaitlyn (Phil) Lloyd, Robert (Karin) Davis and Jeremy (Sara) Johnson; and eight great-grandchildren. Jean is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Rubeck; and sister, Sue Wendelberger.
A funeral service for Jean's family and close friends will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Shorelight Memory Care at Lakeshore Siena Center and the staff at St. Croix Hospice, especially her nurse, Tammy.
