Jayavel Sounderpandian Racine - Jayavel Sounderpandian, 56, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 3:30 a.m. Jay was the beloved husband of Latha Sounderpandian and loving father of Jayasri (31), Meena (22), and Shanta (20). He was a professor of Quantitative Methods in the School of Business and Technology at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside since 1983. For the academic year 2005-2006 he was also interim Dean of the School of Business and Technology. He was the author of two books including a widely used statistics text book, and of numerous publications in national and international journals. He was a recipient of the university's Distinguished Research Award and a lover of mathematical and verbal puzzles. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends and colleagues. Friends and colleagues may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, April 12, 2007 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Services will begin at 6 p.m. followed by cremation.
