Obituary

RACINE – Janice R. Yocco, nee Jacobsen, 88, Loved the Lord, Served the Lord and Went home to be with the Lord on February 20, 2016.Janice was born in Racine on July 15, 1927 to Jacob and Rose (nee, Hanrahan) Jacobsen. She married Raymond Yocco on September 27, 1947. Janice worked as a receptionist at St. Mary's Hospital in the ER and Laboratory for many years. She was very active in her church where she was active in Youth for Christ and also sang in the choir. She enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels, and the Racine Literacy Council.Janice's primary concern was salvation of her family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. John 3: 1-7 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that you have come from God as a teacher; for no one could do these signs that You do unless God is with him." Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born again when he is old: He cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to Him, how can a man be born again when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?" Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say unto you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgement but has passed out of death into life." Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." John 10:27-28 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand." John 5:13 "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you know that you have eternal Life." Jan lived out these verses and made them the cornerstone of her life. She will be missed by her family and friends and looks forward to seeing all again in heaven. She is survived by her husband Raymond Yocco; sons Rich (Diane)Yocco, Scott (Debby) Yocco and Jess (Mary) Yocco; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
