RACINE – Janice M. Rigby, 92, passed away at Hospice Alliance House in Pleasant Prairie on Thursday, January 19, 2017. Janice was born in Racine on March 23, 1924 to George and Bessie (nee, Smerchek) Studey. On August 24, 1946, Janice married Lyle Rigby at Epiphany Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2010. She was a lifelong member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and loved her many years with the Webster Girls Sewing Club.Survivors include her children; Kenneth (Carol) Rigby, Terry (Patricia) Rigby; Keith (Paula) Rigby and Joy (Jeffrey) Haubrich; grandchildren, Bradley (Lynne) Rigby, Betsy (Josh) Horvath, Melanie (George) Baumgardt, Kierstyn and Christian Haubrich; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gloria Took; and brother-in-law, Elton Bertram. Janice is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lauren Studey; and her sister, Shirley Paape.Funeral services for Janice will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to Epiphany Lutheran Church.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hospice Alliance House for all their care and compassion.
