RACINE – Janice R. Hand, 63, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Jan was born in Antigo, WI on November 17, 1952 to Martin and Eleanor (nee, Parham) Braun. She married Leonard F. Hand at St. Edward Catholic Church on March 25, 1972. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2010. Jan earned her Bachelor's Degree from Carthage College, Master's Degree from Carrol College and her PhD in Hospital Administration from Marquette University. She was a grant writer and Director of the HIV Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Survivors include one brother Romuald (Betty) Braun, and two sisters Elizabeth (Les) Richards and Theresa (Rhea) Braun. Jan is also survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lenny, and brothers Bernard (Laverne) Braun, Joseph (Bonnie) Braun, Jack (Fran) Braun and Greg (Bobbie) Braun. A Service of Remembrance for Jan will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning, March 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. A private family entombment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.
