RACINE – Janet Louise Cherkinian, 68, passed away at Froedtert Hospital on Friday, March 31, 2017.Janet was born in Racine on October 29, 1948 to Sarkis "Sam" and Mary (nee, Jandegian) Cherkinian. She was a member of St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church. Janet owned and operated Jan's Card Shop.Survivors include her cousins; Ann Cherkinian, Sandy Jandegian, Jeff (Debra) Jandegian, Caitlin Jandegian, Tyler Jandegian, Gary Jandegian, Jacob Jandegian, Nancy (Rich) Hardesty, Gregory Hardesty, Matthew Hardesty, Michael Cherkinian, Harry Cherkinian, Julia Cherkinian, Sarah Cherkinian and Kate Cherkinian. Janet is also survived by Vicky Jandegian, other relatives and friendsShe was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Gulezar and Vahan Jandegian, Lucia and Kaloust Cherkinian; uncles Gilbert (Doris) Jandegian, Meyer (Jean) Jandegian, Mike (Roxie) Jandegian, Jack (Sharon) Cherkinian, cousins Mark Jandegian, Ardis Cherkinian, Vartine and Harry Cherkinian. Funeral services for Janet will be held at St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 4605 Erie Street, on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Avedis Kalayjian officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church.
