Obituary
James (Jim) Ronald Zold Sr., 89, passed away peacefully at his residence on April 4th, 2025.
Jim was born in Racine, Wisconsin on July 27, 1935 to Joseph Zold and Pearl (nee, Despins) Zold.
Jim enlisted in the Marine Corps during the Korean conflict and was a parachute rigger later becoming a helicopter maintenance crew member.
Jim worked for Rexnord in Racine as a machinist and retired early due to a disability from an automobile accident. Although his disability prevented him from continuing his career Jim enjoyed his family, the outdoors hunting and fishing, gardening, easy listening and polka music, and his hobby repairing outdoor power equipment, and most of all his Boston Terriers.
He is survived by his wife Oralia Perez-Zold, four sons; Russell (Laurie) Zold, Gerald Zold, Timothy A. Zold, Jeffrey Zold, and former wife Carolyn, five step-children; Tina, Dora, Mike, Lily, and Abigail, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son James Jr., his parents Joe and Pearl Zold, brothers Robert (Bob) and Joseph Jr. (Sonny).
Funeral services for James will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Purath-Strand Funeral Home. Full military honors will follow. Private interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
