James Gibson RACINE – James Gibson, 76, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Jim was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on September 4, 1940 to James and Margaret (nee, Crawford) Gibson. On December 30, 1959, Jim married the former Beatrice "Bea" Ross. She preceded him in death on August 15, 2001. Jim played professional soccer in Northern Ireland and England before moving to the United States in 1967, where he played for the Chicago Mustangs. After he retired from playing soccer, he coached at UW-Parkside. Jim was employed by Schultz Sav-o until his retirement. Survivors include his children, Alan Gibson and his wife Lynette, Lesley Gibson and Donna LaCoursiere and Bill; and grandchildren, Peyton LaCoursiere, Ross and Aidan Gibson and David, Ashton and Josh Boger. Jim is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Victor Gibson. Funeral services for Jim will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 40 Ohio Street, on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the ER and ICU staffs at Ascension All Saints Hospital and the staff at Lakeview Specialty Hospital for all their compassionate care.
