Ione J. Hyde Racine – Ione J. Hyde, 90, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Wednesday December 30, 2015 with her granddaughter Kelly by her side. Ione was born in Kingsford, MI on September 9, 1925 to Raymond and Gladys (nee, Johnson) Matton. She married the former Henry "Gene" Hyde on December 19, 1978. Ione enjoyed crocheting and many other crafts. She worked for Western Publishing as a book binder and retired after 29 years of service. Ione is survived by her daughters, Bonita Smith, and Kristine Mahdik; grandchildren, John (Char) Smith, Kelly (Joe) Church, Bobby Mahdik, and David McGough; greatgrandchildren, Hana, Melissa, Mindy and Michael. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ione is preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers and one sister. A memorial service for Ione will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 4 p.m. with Daniel Petersen officiating. In keeping with Ione's wishes, cremation has taken place and entombment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
