Ilona D. Soderberg RACINE – Ilona D. Soderberg, 71, passed away at home on Thursday, March 31, 2016. Ilona was born on December 5, 1944 to William C. Hoover and Linnea U. Niemi. She had been married to John B. Krumm and the late Thomas F. Soderberg. Ilona was an unusually artistic and talented individual who enjoyed acting and singing in her youth and then illustration and interior design, as a career, later in life. A social person with an eye for beauty, Ilona loved to cook and took great pleasure in entertaining friends and family in her welcoming home. She was also keenly interested in science fiction, astrology and all things spiritual. Survivors include her children, Erika B. Linghorn, Will S. Soderberg, Dan T. Soderberg, and her brothers Rob C. Hoover and Noel A. Hoover. Ilona is also survived by other relatives and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, in 2002. A Memorial Service for Ilona will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m.
