Racine – Ida (nee, Schaefer) Seyferth, 87, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Sunday, December 13, 2009. Ida was born in Racine on July 7, 1922 to Mikel and Marie (nee, Petz) Schaefer. She married Clarence H. Seyferth and had been married for over 51 years. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2000. Ida was a very proud and devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church for the past 60 years. She was very active and greatly enjoyed volunteering with the Ladies Aid Society at the church. Ida is survived by her sisters, Martha Halstead and Esther Gallo; and sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Harold) Matter and LaVerne (Harry) Berkley. Ida is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters. Funeral services for Ida will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to one's favorite charity.
