Hilma L. HayekRacine- Hilma L. Hayek, 78, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 07, 2010.Hilma was born in Racine on May 7, 1932 to Hilmer and Petra (nee: Sorensen) Johnson. On June 29, 1957 she married James Hayek at Holy Communion Church and together they shared 53 years of marriage. Hilma enjoyed needlecraft, gardening, playing cards and camping with her friends. She especially enjoyed hosting parties and entertaining family and friends. Hilma "babe" is survived by her husband, James Hayek; Children, Susan Hayek and David (Patricia) Hayek; and sisters, Pearl Sura and Florence Ryan. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Hilma was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lucille Simon.Funeral services for Hilma will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Victoria Millar and Rev. Melanie Hammond-Clark officiating. Entombment will take place in Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials to the charity of your choice have been suggested.The family would like to thank the staff at Vitas Hospice for the wonderful care given to Hilma. The family would like to thank some very special people, while the card games are no longer the memories and love remain to our lifetime friends, Barbara & Jim Kortendick and Vivian & Kenny Clark.
