Obituary

Herbert F. Boerger Racine - Herbert F. Boerger, 97, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Thursday, June 21, 2007. Herb was born in Racine on February 24, 1910. He married the former Esther Pannier in Granton, WI on September 15, 1934. She preceded him in death on December 23, 1996. Herb was a very active member of St. John's Lutheran Church for many years. He attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Concordia High School in Milwaukee. Herb was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church and is a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Herb was very gifted and was a self taught tool and die maker. He was employed by Allover Manufacturing and in 1958 he and his brother Jack Boerger started Boerger Molding & Manufacturing. He loved his work, making and fixing things, but most of all he will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Survivors include his children, Phyllis (John) Kamperschroer, Clarice (Robert) Lovdahl, Ruth (Marc Erdrich) Boerger, Patricia (Alan) Doerflinger and Martin Boerger; grandchildren, John (Tami) Kamperschroer, Michael (Beth) Kamperschroer, Jean (Mark) Hoger, Aletta (Kevin) Jocius, Peter (Mary) Lovdahl, Julie (Mike) Sonnenberg, Leif (Debbie) Lovdahl, Krista (Joe) VanBree, Beth Miner, Jason (Katie) Miner, Cheryl (Wayne) Hietikko, David (Chris) Doerflinger, Andrew (Shelly) Doerflinger, Mary Doerflinger and Paul (Alyssa) Doerflinger; 26 great grandchildren; and sister, Dorothea Benke. Herb is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Boerger; brothers, Ernest, Martin, Rev. J.F., Julius, Walter and Frederick; and sisters, Margaret Wisch, Lydia Pfotenhauer, Frieda Hannemann and Ruth Weiss. Funeral services for Herb will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Robert Benke and Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran School or Racine Lutheran High School. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center for their tender care during Herb's short stay.
