Obituary

Racine – Henry T. Kalenofske, 90, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Hank was born in Racine on July 27, 1920 to Joseph and Mary (nee, Koslowski) Kalenofske. He married the former Shirley James in Racine on October 24, 1969. Hank was the love of her life. Hank served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Tree Mfg. after more than thirty years. Hank enjoyed crafting with wood along with Shirley. He also enjoyed dancing, fishing, bowling and working in his garden, but most of all he loved to play his accordion and the harmonica. Hank is survived by his wife, Shirley Kalenofske; children, Thomas (Alison) Kalenofske, Rachel (John) Brown, Debra (Mike) Perine and Diana Green; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, William Sorensen and Richard (Mona) Fortier; and sisters-in-law, Norma (Bob) Stevens, Janet (Wayne) Prudhomme and Shirley James. Hank is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, LeRoy Kalenofske; and sisters & brothers-in-law, Alice (Phil) Seneske, Dorothy (Cecil) O'Brien, Eleanor (Bud) Hueffner, Dolly (Mike) Chobanian and Evelyn Sorensen. A Memorial Service for Hank will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Henry Maibusch, OSA officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Doctors Howard Short, James Taylor and Lisa Wolf and their staffs for all of their care and compassion.
