Helen W. Tobias Racine - Helen W. Tobias, 82, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Monday, October 22, 2007. Helen was born in Racine on January 24, 1925 to Soren and Marie (nee, Thorup) Hansen. She married Robert L. Tobias at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on June 28, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1975. Helen was employed by Webster Electric Company for over 30 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of foreign Wars Post 1391 in Racine for 47 years. She held various offices and chairmanships on Local, district and State levels including Auxiliary and District President. Helen served as State Secretary Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. for over ten years. She was also a member of the Danish sisterhood Lodge #20. Helen is survived by her daughter, Diane (Walter) Hogan; two sisters, Betty Mollerskov and Norma Hanson; one sister-in-law, Lillian Hansen; five step-grandchildren; and 11 step great grandchildren. Helen is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Hansen and Gordon Hansen; sister, Esther Gustavson; father-in-law, Walter; mother-in-law, Frances; five brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law. Funeral services for Helen will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 7 p.m. with Rev. P.J. Mortenson officiating. Private family Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services. The V.F.W. Auxiliary Services will be held at 6:45 p.m. Memorials may be directed to All Saints Lutheran Church, Oak Creek, the V.F.W. Auxiliary Cancer Aid & Research Program.
