Helen M. Lindgren (Liegl) 87, of Racine Passed away at her home on November 27,2024.
Helen was born July 2,1937 in Spring Green, WI too Frank and Grace (Laubmeier) Liegl.In 1955 Helen graduated from Central High School in Paddock Lake, WI, from there she went on to
Nursing School and became a CNA and worked all her life taking care of others. While in School she met the love of her life Edward Lindgren. It was then in 1959 Helen and Ed were united in marriage at St Edwards Catholic Church in Racine. During their marriage they had 4 children, Robert Lindgren of Canton, GA, Mary Gursky, Susan (Mark Gursky), Catherine (Terry) Chesser all of Racine, WI, while working and raising the children Helen loved to garden, bake and go fishing with her husband. In the later years Helen and Ed moved to Minnesota for retirement, so as the years went by, and Ed's health started to decline they moved back to Racine in 2013 to be closer to their family.
Helen is survived by her 4 children, her Grandchildren Melissa (Jeremy) Rediske, Teri Sharp (Gary Roberts) , Brett (Ana ) Gursky, Kristopher (Sarah) Gursky, Jeffrey(Kaylee) Gursky, Holly (Josh) Franke, Karl (Lauren) Gursky all of Racine , Bailee, Cody
Chesser of Arizona and her Great Grandchildren, Corissa, Preston, Jael, Peyton, Madison, Thomas, Kristal ,Micheal, Alizee, Morgan, Miley, Savannah, Baylin, Anthony, Paige, Lexi, Melony, Ashton Emma, Ava, and Warren,
her sister
Mary Ann (Rich) Ciesielski. She is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other family. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Edward , their daughter Rose Marie, her Parents Frank and Grace, her sister's Theresa Valetti and Hilda Beckman, her son in law Thomas Gursky, her granson Aragon Sharp
and Great Grandson Dyllan Compton.
A special Thank you to her niece Debi Laba for all the time sitting with mom and bringing her food and treats of mom's choice.
We would also like to thank the Parkview Community friends and staff where mom lived the last three years, for the kindness and friendship. She loved to play Bingo ,operating the Bingo store, all the activities , and the adventures out on the bus. The three caregivers she became very attached to Thank You, Nya and Charday, Sacoria, The Hospice Caregivers and the close friends,
She met Pat and Ruth along the way. Thank You EVERYONE for loving my MOMMA.

Helens Visitation will be held at the Funeral home on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 11- 1 o'clock with services at 1:00. Private interment will take place next to her husband Edward at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
