Obituary

RACINE - Harald Richard Miehle passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday October 19, 2016. Harald was born in Germany on June 20, 1927 to Richard and Elsa (nee, Brifke) Miehle. He served in the German Army before immigrating to the United States. Where he became an American citizen and proudly served actively in the U.S. Army. He married the former Joanne E. Schultz-Turnmire on January 18, 1964 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Racine, WI. They celebrated 52 1/2 years of marriage. He was employed as a Journeyman Electrician with Racine Hydraulics, later retiring from the Bosch Cooperation. After retirement, Harald and Joanne moved to their beloved "Northwoods" Danbury, WI; where they spent the next 20 years enjoying the great outdoors. He spent many hours of enjoyment, hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was an exclusive member of the "Fearsome Fivesome" along with his beloved friends (Bob Bird, John Johannsen, Dennis Kruger, and Roy Nelson). as a young man he was a member of the Lakeside Rifle and Pistol League and played for the Racine Soccer Club. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA, the VFW, and the Deutscher Mnner Verein. Survivors include his beloved wife, Joanne; his loving children, Kelly (Andrew) Zimmerman and Randolph "Randy" (Lynn) Miehle; grandchildren, Tiffanie (Christopher) Cuellar, Alisha Burger, Evan (Rachel) Zimmerman, Amber (Andrew) Miehle-Burton, and Brooke Miehle (Matthew Tingwald); great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Gavin, and Joanna Cuellar, and Jayda Burger; and his sister, Evelynn Finger, along with her four daughters and their families in Germany. He is also survived by a multitude of loving family and friends. In keeping with Harald's wishes a private family service will be held. An Inurnment will take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Joanne requests all memorials be donated to the Alzheimer's Association. A special thank you to our hospice nurse, Tina.
