RACINE – Hans Hermansen, 68, passed away at home on Monday, May 14, 2018. Hans was born in Denmark on October 20, 1949 to Axel and Inga Marie (nee, Nielsen) Hermansen. He moved with his family to Racine in 1955 and attended Washington Park High School, graduating in 1968. Hans was a CPA for many years, but he found his most enjoyment in driving bus, giving him the opportunity to travel all over the country. He also loved driving his MGB. Hans played soccer for many years. After his playing days he continued his passion for soccer as a referee for WIAA. Survivors include his son, Chris (Nicole) Hermansen; and his sisters, Greta (Erik) Hansen and Hanne (Ron) Nelson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Hans was preceded in death by his parents. In keeping with Hans' wishes, a private family service was held. Inurnment was held at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Danish Immigrant Museum, located in Elk Horn, IA.
