Goldie Irma Lucretia Beres Oak Creek - Goldie Irma Lucretia (nee, Leranth) Beres, 95, united with Jesus Christ on Monday, October 20, 2008. Goldie was born in South Milwaukee on June 20, 1913 to Charles and Barbara (nee, Gregus) Leranth. She was united in marriage to Bernard Beres and he preceded her in death in 1978. Goldie was a highly conscientious employee for 26 years at the South Milwaukee Bucyrus Erie plant. She touched many lives and hearts during her 51 years as a gifted, exuberant Sunday School teacher at Oak Creek Assembly of God Church. Teaching the children was one of the greatest joys of her life. Above all, Goldie was a devoted wife and mother. Her love and compassion for her family and others, her strong faith in Jesus Christ, her joy of life, her bubbly personality and her flair for making everyone laugh and feel comfortable will be sincerely cherished and missed. Goldie is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Gene) Schuster, Betty (Jon) Gueller and Beverly (Pat) Haley. Grandma Goldie will be truly missed by her loving grandchildren, Randy (Lisa) Burk, Beth (Tim) Maxwell, Jill (Todd) Haley-Rose and Sean Haley; great-grandchildren, Jason Burk, Jimmy Maxwell, Keeghan Burk, Joshua Burk, Dylan Maxwell and Summer Rose. Goldie is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, with her special love for the Richard Leranth family and extra regard for caring neighbors, Tom and Kathy Ashbaugh. Her only son, Bernard Edward, went to be with Jesus as a child. Goldie was also preceded in death by son-in-law, George Burk; granddaughter-in-law, Tammy Burk; her parents; brothers and other relatives. Private funeral services for Goldie's immediate and extended family will be held at Oak Creek Assembly of God Church, 7311 S. 13th Street, Oak Creek, followed by interment in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday evening, October 23, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hospice of Aurora VNA of Milwaukee or the Oak Creek Assembly of God Church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Hospice of Aurora VNA of Milwaukee for all of their care and compassion shown to Goldie and her daughters.
