RACINE – Glenn John Schemenauer, Sr., 80 passed away at his home after a long battle with Alzheimer's on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.Glenn was born in Milwaukee on March 26, 1936 to John and Delores (nee, Braatz) Schemenauer. He married the former Helen J. Schlesner celebrating 61 years of marriage. Glenn retired from Evinrude Outboard Motors Corporation after more than 33 years. He was a people person, enjoyed meeting with his coffee group at K-Mart. Glenn loved animals and his movie collection which he enjoyed sharing with his friends, but most of all he loved his family and worshiped his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Helen J. Schemenauer; children, Glenn (Maime) Schemenauer, Gary Schemenauer, Gregory Schemenauer, Cheryl (Steven) Janus, and Tracy Leimbach; son-in-law, Eric Leimbach; grandchildren, Tonya Renee, Glenn, III, Shawn, Joseph, Jennifer, Andrew Paul, Amber, Joseph, Jessica, Samantha, Kasey, Eric, Jr. and Evan; several great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Barbara English and Darlene (Norman) Tobleman. Glenn is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son Steven Schemenauer.Funeral services for Glenn will be held at West Lawn Memorial park chapel on Thursday, December, 1, 2016 at 12 noon. Entombment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Brittig and the staff of Ascension Home Hospice for all of their compassionate care.
