Obituary

PLEASANT PRAIRIE - Son… brother… father… husband… grandfather… engineer… friend – Glenn Salley lost his long battle with a degenerative neurological disease on December 16, 2016 at Clairidge House in Kenosha. He was 69, the son of the late Clarence Salley and Rosella (nee, Wolfgram) Salley of Rochester, MN. Glenn met his wife, Marlene (Elings) at the University of Iowa where he earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. They were married September 11, 1971 in Des Moines, Iowa. Glenn started his career at Winnebago Industries in Forest City, Iowa. From there he moved onto Case (Case IH, CNH), working for that company for the next 30 plus years in Burlington, Iowa; Racine, Wisconsin; and Chicago, Illinois. He also worked for Snap On Tools in Kenosha for several years. Glenn loved his two sons – Greg Salley of San Diego, CA and David (Christina) Salley of Racine and his three grandchildren – Caroline, Kurt and Kyle. In his spare time, Glenn enjoyed restoring old cars and going to car shows. He could fix almost anything. He was also an avid gardener. Glenn is survived by Marlene, Greg, David and the grandchildren plus his mother and siblings, Karen, Stacy, MN; Brian, Hastings, MN; Deann, Inver Grove Heights, MN; and Arlen (Lynnette), Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1015 Four Mile Road, Racine, WI on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at the church from 12 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Glenn's name to your favorite charity.
