Obituary
Gert was born in Tannenbergsthal, Germany on December 14, 1945 to the late Werner and Hilde (nee: Goering) Lippold.
Gert proudly served in the U. S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1969. In Milwaukee, on July 23, 1983 he married Kathleen A. Held. Gert was employed with JI Case in sales until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Kathleen Lippold, his children Colleen (Frank) Donovan and Michael (Laura) Lippold; his granddaughter Erin Lippold and his brother. Guenther (Carol) Lippold. Gert is further survived by his aunt Lili Brandle in Germany; his aunt Hella; cousins and friends.
A memorial service for Gert will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Purath-Strand Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Private inurnment with full military honors will be held at a later date in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the American Lung Association have been suggested.
