RACINE –Gerald E. "Gus" Gregory, 81, entered into the loving arms of Jesus and was reunited with his mother on February 13, 2015. Gus was born in Racine on August 20, 1933 to Wilbert and Priscilla (Malcom) Gregory. Gus served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On August 20, 1955 he married his grade school sweetheart, the former Sylvia Seyferth. Gus was a member of painters local 108 and retired from Krekling Painting. Gus is survived by his loyal and loving wife of 59 years, Sylvia Gregory; children, Mark (Carol) Gregory, Scott Gregory, Terri (Patrick Herrera) Gilboy and her former husband, Dave Gilboy, and Cindy (David) Cooke; grandchildren, Ben (Michelle) Gregory, Megan (Ross) Bray, Brianna (Jamie) Doyle, Shane Gregory, Shaun Gilboy, Jessica (Kevin) Petersen, Paul Cooke, Mike (Megan) Cooke and Rachel Cooke; and four great-grandchildren Quinn, Eleanor and Hudson Bray and Finley Gregory. Gus is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters; and a brother. A memorial service for Gus will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. A private entombment with Full Military Honors will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Veterans Administration.Thank you to the caring staff at the Union Grove VA, St. Luke's hospital in Cudahy and Vitas Hospice.
