Racine – Gerald A. George, 80, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013. Gerald was born in Racine on October 12, 1932, son of the late Leo George and Esther Beth. Gerald attended St. Catherine's High School where he left early to join the Air Force and proudly served his country in the Korean War. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant and was honorably discharged after twenty-one years of service. During this period of time he met and married the late Joan Ingemann. Gerald was a very competitive bowler, and shot pistol for the Air Force teams he was deployed with. After his retirement, he worked in the car sales industry for the rest of his career. He loved watching old westerns and having the occasional beer with family and friends. Survivors include his children, Karlin Thomas of Wausau, Dave (Linda) George and Paul George of Racine; grandchildren, Jennifer, John, Eric and Gillian Thomas, Samantha, Trevor, Alaina and Owen George; and his brothers, Ron (Lil) Aiello of California and Darrell (Rose) Beth of Racine. Gerald is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; and daughter, Sarah. Private family services will be held at a later date. The family would like to send a special thanks to Alma and Luis Rincon for all the loving and compassionate care given to Gerald in his final years.
