Obituary

RACINE – Georgiana C. "Jean" Halverson, 77, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha on Monday, December 14, 2015. Jean was born in Menominee, MI on December 29, 1937 to Myril A. and Winifred (nee, Henry) Brix. On January 28, 1961, Jean married John J. Halverson. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2008. She was very involved in the Crestview Women's Club and was President of the local TOPS group. Jean loved crafting, bicycling, gardening, shopping and playing bunco. Jean & John enjoyed traveling and spending time vacationing at their trailer. Survivors include her children, John J. (Debra) Halverson, Jr., Bryan M. (Theresa) Halverson and Melisa A. (Richard) Scott; grandchildren, Jake, Christopher, Isabelle, Maxwell, Hunter, Rylan, Emma and Sarah; and her sister, Judith (Jerry) Williams of Marinette. Jean is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dane Halverson; granddaughter, Katie Halverson; and her brother, Myril "Butch" Brix. The Mass of Christian Burial for Jean will be held at St. Mary's by the Lake Catholic Church on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 12 noon, celebrated by Rev. Stephen Stradinger. Interment will follow at Caledonia Memorial Park Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Make A Wish Foundation in honor of Jean's granddaughter, Isabelle.
