Georgia E. McMullen RACINE – Georgia E. McMullen, 92, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Timber Oaks Assisted Living Center in Union Grove. Georgia was born in South Paris, Maine on February 25, 1922 to Fred and Evelyn (nee, Drew) Durgin. She married Richard C. Phelps in 1943, then came to Racine. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1977. She married Oliver McMullen in 1984 who preceded her in death, February 12, 2005. After graduating from South Paris High School, she went to Bay Path University in Long Meadow, Massachusetts. Georgia retired from First National Bank after twenty-three years and is now known as Chase Bank. Georgia enjoyed dancing, reading, knitting, gardening, crocheting and cribbage along with good conversation. Georgia is survived by her children, Mark A. (Barbara) Phelps, Joyce E. Schaefer and Janice L. Phelps; grandchildren, Christopher Phelps, James Phelps, Julie A. Schaefer, Valerie Trudell and Pattie Yip; and her great-grandchildren, Caroline Phelps, Isabella Phelps, Emma Phelps, Ray Phelps, Ryleigh Phelps, Lydia Trudell, Ethan Trudell and Evan Trudell; Georgia is further survived by her step-daughter, Barbara Hegeman; step-granddaughter, Dawn (Mark) Duda and step-great grandchildren, Brody and Login; other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Georgia will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 12 noon with Fr. Dustin Fecht officiating. A private interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home open Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 noon.
