George Kazarian RACINE – George Kazarian, 83, passed away at the Clement J. Zablocki V.A. Medical Center on Monday, September 25, 2017. The second of four sons born to Kaiser and Derouhee (nee, Tokatlian) Kazarian (children of the Armenian Genocide). Born in Racine, he attended Horlick High School after which her served four years in the U.S. Air Force in the Air Police. George lived his entire life in the city, most in the homestead on State Street. As a construction worker and auto mechanic, he was an independent sort of person of uncommon abilities. George supported the minority position on issues, which perhaps many do not care to hear, but most listened to out of curious attraction to respect. No, George was not a joiner, but he enjoyed his cigar, coffee and a chat. In later years he exhibited a compassion that warmed many around him, and he will be missed by his family, friends and residents of Marian House. Survivors include his brothers, Sarkis (Nancy) Kazarian, Peter (Sosi) Kazarian and Jack (Pamela) Kazarian; nieces and nephews, Kai (Gay) Kazarian, Holly (Rob) Dedekian, Carol (Steve) Cariello, Tamar (Vahag) Vartanian and Dan (Lara) Krueger. George is also survived by numerous cousins in Canada and Istanbul. Funeral services for George will be held at St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 4605 Erie Street, on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Avedis Kalayjian officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church or the Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin.
