RACINE - Gary W, Stephan, 73, passed away at his home on July 6, 2016Gary was born in Racine, WI on November 11, 1942. Gary met his wife Sue (nee: Drobnik) while working at Miller's Flowers in Racine. Gary and Sue married November 5, 1966. From 1966 to 1968, Gary proudly and honorably served his Country in Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, Gary worked at Western Publishing as Accounts Receivable Manager until his retirement. For many years, Gary loved camping, canoeing, hiking and exploring nature with his family. Gary also was a talented gardener who took great pride in his beautiful yard, one year even being selected to have his gardens featured as part of Racine's annual garden walk. Additionally, Gary was very creative, and for many years, he was part of the core group of talented decorators at his church, Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. Above all, Gary was a proud and much loved husband, father, father in law and grandfather to his family, and a loyal and beloved friend to many.Gary is survived by his children, Bill Stephan, Katy (Alex) Stephan-Cothell, Andy (Monica) Stephan, and Ann Stephan-Vuhilu; grandchildren David, Ben, Olivia and Jake Stephan, Ian Postler, Logan, Emily, Jordan, Bijou, and Kade Stephan, Grace Stephan, Ezekiel and Lillian Vuhilu; brother Dennis Stephan; sister in law Margaret Drobnik; brother in law, Jay (Kathy) Drobnik, and very dear friends Barbara Thomas and Samora Nakitare. Gary was preceded in death by his wife Sue (nee: Drobnik) Stephan, parents Willard and Rose Stephan, and father in law and mother in law Bill and Mary Jo Drobnik.A service of Christian Burial for Gary will be held at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 322 Ohio Street in Racine on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
