Frederick W. Patzke"Bud" RACINE – Fred "Bud" Patzke, 98, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Hospital and was born to eternal life on Thursday, September, 10, 2015. Fred was born in Racine on February 1, 1917 to Adolph and Ada (nee, Schmoll) Patzke. He married Virginia Robey on October 11, 1947 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Fred worked at Jacobsen Manufacturing as a carpenter. His early years were spent working on the family farm. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid gardener. He cared for his garden and had a vegetable stand at the end of his driveway for over 40 years. His life was tied to the soil and the blessings it offered. Survivors include his son, Daniel (Kathryn); grandchildren, Megan (Joseph) Seager, Matthew (Amanda) Patzke; brother, Norman Patzke of Mercer, Wisconsin; sisters Carol Dearsley and Ruth Wynstra of Racine; special friends Terry and Carol Benson and Tom and Ann Lorenzini. Fred is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Funeral services for "Bud" will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Steven Clingman officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Racine Lutheran High School or Emmanuel Lutheran Church have been suggested.The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ryan Engel and Kathy Torkelson lay worker from Emmanuel Lutheran Church for all of their compassionate care.
