Racine – Frank William Hinkle. On August 26, 2010, our family said good-bye to a very important person in our lives. His illness was long; he left us too soon and he will live in our hearts forever. God will keep him safe now. Frank was born in Racine on December 29, 1941 to Henry and Louella (nee, Cody) Hinkle. He married the former Estelle Mandelin in 1964. Frank served in the U.S. Marine Corp and retired from Western Publishing Company in 1999. Frank was a talented artist, loved restoring cars and was an avid NASCAR (Mark Martin), and Packer fan. He collected artwork, bronzes and coins. Survivors include his wife, Estelle Hinkle; children, Kelly (Karen) Hinkle, Shawn (Renee) Hinkle; and Mike and Sherry Cooper; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Barb (Don) Oertel; and brother, Ken Hinkle. Frank is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Gen Hinkle; and numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral services for Frank will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ray Christenson officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice alliance, Heartland Hospice, Dr's Gullburg and Mullane and their staffs for all of their care and compassion shown to Frank and support to Estelle.
