Francis Henry Bagley, Jr.Racine- Francis Henry Bagley died May 10, 2007 at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in Union Grove.Mr. Bagley was born November 1, 1918 in Louisville, Kentucky to Francis and Mary (Dasch) Bagley. Frank was a World War II Navy Veteran who saw extensive action while on the USS Herndon, a destroyer. The ship earned the nickname the 'Lucky Herndon' after multiple missions in the North Atlantic, the invasion of Normandy, the Mediterranean, and Sicily. He left the Navy with the rank of Lt. Commander. On April 6, 1941 he married Bette Lou Chambers in Norfolk, VA. She preceded him in death, departing on his birthday, November 1, 2003. Frank attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, V.A. majoring in Chemistry. He was a sales engineer and served as Vice President for Industrial Sales for Walter B. Rom Inc. in Wauwatosa, WI. Later he formed his own company, Plastic Machinery Sales of California. After retirement and returning to Wisconsin, Betty and Frank enjoyed traveling, gardening, and volunteering for the Republican Party of Jefferson County. Mr. Bagley was a life long Mason.Frank is survived by a son, Robert (Judith) Bagley of Racine, and a daughter, Carole (Ronald) Stoehr of Dousman. He had six grandchildren, Shannon McKeough of Frederick, MD, Heather (Eric) Peterson of Charlotte, NC, Diana Bagley of Milwaukee, Drue (Julie) Stoehr of Chicago, Ryan (Heather) Bagley of Milwaukee, and Ian (Heather) Bagley of Kenosha. He also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Grady McKeough, Siobhan Bagley, Ciaran Bagley, and Makenna Bagley. His sister, Mariana D. Bagley, preceded him in death.A private memorial service for Frank will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in Union Grove have been suggested.
