RACINE – Frances L. Baker, 91, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Tuesday, March 24, 2015.Frances was born in Providence, SC on May 7, 1923 to Rhodus and Frances (nee, Hodge) Ard. She received her education in the schools of Sumter, S.C. Frances married Frank E. Baker on February 26, 1969. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2011. Frances worked for Willy's Sentry on Douglas Avenue as a deli clerk retiring in 1982. In their retirement they loved to travel. Their favorite trip was the one that took them across the ocean to Ireland. They always made lots of friends on these trips.Frances is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Lawrence) Harrer, Linda Page and Charles Page; step-sons, James (Terry) Baker and William (Linda) Baker; Ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jack E. Page; Grandson Jared D. Page, step-sons, Frank J. Baker and Donald Baker; and sisters, Celeste (Lacy) Taylor, Myrtle (Clifford) Overstreet and Mildred (Robert) Strawn.A memorial service for Frances will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. Entombment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Racine Bookmobile at 75 Seventh St Racine, WI 53403 would be appreciated as Frances was an avid reader and felt the bookmobile was her 2nd home.
