Florence G. Ryan RACINE – Florence G. Ryan, 87, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha on Monday, December 7, 2015. Florence was born in Kenosha on June 19, 1928 to Hilmer L. and Petra M. (nee, Sorenson) Johnson. On May 19, 1951, Florence married Earl C. Ryan at Holy Name Catholic church. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2003. Florence was employed by Sandy's and retired from All Tool Sales in 1998 after more than 17 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Survivors include her children, Michael (Judith) Ryan, Richard (Debra) Ryan, Christine Smith and Patrick (JoAnn) Ryan; grandchildren, Shawn (Ann), Daniel (Megan), Sarah (Josh), Jeremy (Kim), Emily (Rob), Joanne (Rich), Joshua and Olivia; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Pearl Sura and special friend and neighbor Sally Cooke. Florence is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lucille Jacob and Hilma Hayek; and granddaughter, Hannah. A Mass of Christian Burial for Florence will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, corner of Erie and St. Patrick's Streets, on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Steve Varghese. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:30 a.m. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Alliance or a charity of one's choice.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Society's Assets for all of their compassionate care.
