Evelyn Margaret Exner, age 81, went to be with her Lord on April 13, 2014 with her family by her side, following a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.Evelyn was born in Racine on October 6, 1932, daughter of the late Bernt and Gertrude (Ne Bertelsen) Molbeck. She was united in marriage to Gerald Frederick Exner on November 29, 1952. They had 3 daughters and were married for 61 years, making their home in Racine.Evelyn was employed at St. Mary's Hospital. She retired as a buyer in the Purchasing Department in 1997 after 25 years of employment. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, holding many positions over the years, including Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, Altar Guild, and most recently, financial secretary, resigning from that position in March of this year.Evelyn loved spending her summers with her husband at their trailer on Fox Lake, fishing and hosting fish fries for their many friends at the trailer park. She also enjoyed reading, puzzles of any kind, gardening, and having lunch with her loyal group of high school girlfriends and past co-workers.Evelyn leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband and best friend, Jerry; daughters: Kristy (Steve) Bandy of Stevens Point, Gail (Buzz) Faust of Racine, and Nancy (Peter) Martin of Grand Rapids, MI; 12 grandchildren: Kate Jaeger, Kara (Andy) Borchardt, Kasey, Nathan, Natalie and Tess Bandy, Kelsey and Dana Faust, and Ashley, Jordan, Colin and Tanner Martin; brothers: James Molbeck, Jack (Judy) Molbeck, and Ralph (Brenda) Molbeck; brothers-in-law: Conrad Exner and LeRoy (Mildred) Exner; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved sister Jean Ostergaard, her in-laws Conrad and Helena Exner, and sisters-in-law and dear friends Shirley Molbeck and Margie Exner.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 12pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4649 Lora Street, with Reverend Neil Carlson officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church from 10:30am -12pm.
