RACINE – Eugene A. Konsinowski, 66, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Gene was born in Racine on February 22, 1952 to Russell and Marion (nee, Paton) Konsinowski. He attended Racine area schools graduating from Horlick High School in 1970. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1971 to 1977. On October 22, 1977, Gene married the love of his life, Susan Gerber. Gene worked at Kortendick Hardware for 14 years, Western Publishing for 18 years and retired from Kenosha Unified School District in 2017 after 14 years. Gene enjoyed going to casinos, bowling, played 16" softball for Cape, Fle-Bro, Pub On Wisconsin and DeMark's. He loved woodworking, yard work and was willing to help any and all who asked, and most of all he loved his family and will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Sue Konsinowski; children, Callie and Ashley, whom he adored; his sister, Judy (Jerry) Lebrick; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie Konsinowski, Darlene Larson and Al Gerber; his mother-in-law, Dolores "Dolly" Gerber; and special aunt, "Tootie" who has been a great help over the years. Gene is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, his Mahone family at KUSD; longtime neighbor and good friends, Bob Klees and Adam Gibbs, who was like a son to Gene; two grand dogs; one grand cat; and his canine buddy, Skeeter. Gene was preceded in death by his two daughters, Jamie and Jennifer; parents; brother, Richard Konsinowski; father-in-law, Cal Gerber; brother-in-law, Michael Larson; and niece, Tammy Hush. Funeral service for Gene will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials to Gene's family have been suggested.
