Obituary

Racine - Eugene Mickey Czebotar passed away peacefully at his home in the care of his children on October 1, 2012. Eugene was born in Racine on March 7, 1926 to John and Stella (nee: Sienkiewicz) Czebotar, the sixth of eight children. In November 1948 he wed Mary Dexter with whom he shared his life until her death in 2003. Eugene enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at 17 and spent the next two years in the Philippine Islands. After the war, Eugene tried his hand at hair dressing in the Chicago area. Not finding that to be a comfortable fit, he tried cab driving in Racine; a stint at different local manufacturers, eventually settling at Racine Unified Schools where he was employed as a custodian and boiler operator for 25 years. Eugene loved roller skating, gardening, painting, shouting profanities at the political talking heads on the television, curbside shopping, and being entertained by his great grandchildren. The entire world will miss this wonderful, gentle, man.
