RACINE – Ethel H. Swanson, nee, Galgocy, 92, passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice-Ignite in Oak Creek, Wisconsin on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Ethel was born in Endicott, NY on February 3, 1929 to the late Joseph and Ethel Helen Galgocy. She married the love of her life, Paul Kenneth Swanson who preceded her in death. Ethel was a Medical Lab Technician at Binghamton General Hospital, Ideal Labs and Wilson Hospital. After she retired from her medical profession, she enjoyed working part-time for the law firm of Levene, Gouldin and Thompson. In her spare time, she loved to bake, golf, read, knit, and most of all loved to go shopping. She was a member of the Endicott Elks Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, Mark (Mariah) Swanson and Karin (Michael) Payne; niece, Donna Morris; her grandchildren, Ben (Katie) Swanson, Kari Payne, Justin Swanson, and Sarah (Ted) Strusinski; and several great grandchildren. Ethel is also survived by other relatives and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her dear sister, Irma Pirich. A celebration of life for Ethel will be held at a later date in Endicott, NY. Inurnment will take place at Vestal Hills Cemetery in Vestal, NY. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Season's Hospice Foundation.
