Ethel Mae SchweitzerRacine- Ethel Mae Schweitzer, 95, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Saturday, June 12, 2010.Ethel was born in Racine on September 9, 1914 to Andrew and Emma (nee: Sievers) Seiter. She married Charles R. Schweitzer in Racine on June 24, 1948; he preceded her in death February 5, 1973. Ethel worked for Western Publishing. She was a member of Christ the King Church. Ethel enjoyed walking, riding her bicycle and fishing. She also enjoyed going to rummage sales and antique shops. Ethel is survived by her son, Charles A. Schweitzer; grandchildren, Jennifer (Daniel) Honor, Melissa Hansen, Andrew (Yuko) Schweitzer, Amy Marema, Katharine Schweitzer, Erica Schweitzer, Mary Schweitzer and Tracey Schweitzer; great grandchildren, Cory Tilton, Ronnie and Holly Hansen, Kaitlin Wiltse, Silo Schweitzer, Gwendolyn Marema, Morgan Schweitzer and Allison Blome. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father in law, Charles and Amanda Schweitzer, son David Schweitzer, daughter Susan Schweitzer and sister Helen Kwas.Funeral service for Ethel will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 10:00 am. with Rev. Hilbert Kamps officiating. Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials to Christ the King Church have been suggested.
