Ethel Shirley Klepel"Shirley" RACINE- Ethel Shirley Klepel, age 88, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on June 27, 2017. Shirley was born in Miami, FL on March 24, 1929 to Walter Hillary and Gladys Ethel Thompson. She married Earl Klepel at Trinity Lutheran Church on August 20, 1949. Shirley was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Trinity Troopers, Ladies Aid and Lutheran Woman's Missionary League. Shirley enjoyed helping decorate the church for Holidays and special functions. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Earl Klepel; daughter and son in law, Karen (Larry) Boehm and grandchildren, Aaron (Tracy) Boehm and Amanda Boehm. Shirley is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Joel Klepel; grandparents, William and Emma Voge; aunt and uncle Hazel and Al Christiansen and sister Gloria Kemnitz and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Shirley will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2052 Geneva Street on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Private inurnment will take place. In Lieu of flowers, Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or Lutheran High School have been suggested.
