Racine – Erica Allison Smith, 47, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Erica was born in Pittsburg, PA on March 29, 1965 to Allen and Mary (nee, Erjavetz) Schwarz. On September 4, 1998, Erica married Daniel J. Smith, recently celebrating fourteen years of marriage. She was employed by the Milwaukee County Transit System for over twenty-three years. Erica was a devoted, loving wife and loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed cooking, Packer games and traveling, especially to Mexico. But most of all Erica loved her three cats, Bailey, Newton and Luna. Survivors include her husband, Daniel J. Smith; sisters, Stephanie (Judy Wichtoski) Schwarz and Leslie (John) Jorgensen; and her father-in-law, Daniel F. Smith. Erica is also survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and mother-in-law, Mary M. Smith. Funeral Mass for Erica will be held at St. Rita's Parish, 4339 Douglas Avenue, on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 12 noon celebrated by Rev. Kevin C. Mullins, O.S.A. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints, Fr. John Vianney and the staff at Willowcrest Care Center for all of their care and compassion.
