Emma Worob, 96, passed away on Sunday, December 1st, 2024 at Azura-Oak Creek. She is reunited with her life partner, William "Bill" Koehler.
Emma was born in Germany on December 24th, 1928 to the late George and Emma (nee: Knibutat) Felgendreher. She immigrated to the United States after being sponsored by a family for her sewing skills. Her life was filled with adventure in the United States and she settled in Wisconsin and raised her family.
After a successful career as an electronics technician at Getty's in Caledonia, she became bored in retirement and continued working with Zahn Electronics. She enjoyed the dexterity of soldering tiny parts and wire on electronic panels, which were integral parts of complex systems such as converters and amplifiers. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and homemaking.
Her dry wit and humor will forever be missed. You never knew if Emma was kindly sharing a compliment, or inadvertently insulting you. "Ich bin alt, und ich bin kalt, und Sie wollen auch einfrieren." (I'm old and I'm cold, and you are going to freeze too)
She is survived by her son, Lee Worob; her grandchildren, Sierra Worob and Adam Worob. Emma is further survived by many nieces and nephews in Germany.
A memorial service for Emma will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11am at Purath-Stand Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10am until the time of the service.
