Racine – Emery E. Eckheart, 79, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Monday, August 12, 2013. Emery was born in Oelwein, IA on July 8, 1934 to Amos and Helen (nee, Richards) Eckheart. He married the former Helen Streicher at Munterville Lutheran Church; near Ottumwa, Iowa on December 23, 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He then started his professional career with International Harvester in Ottumwa, Iowa. His career took him throughout Iowa and Illinois, where he lived in seven different cities, and lastly moving to Racine with Case-IH where he retired in 1997 after 38 years. Emery is survived by his wife, Helen Eckheart; children, Carmoleta (Larry) Youck from Swansea, IL; and Eric (Christine) Eckheart from Cary, IL. Grandchildren, Adam Youck, Ryan Youck, Evan Eckheart and Alexandra Eckheart; his brother, Gary (Francile) Eckheart; and brother-in-law, Louis Williamson. Emery is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ermadel Williamson; and brother, Robert Eckheart. Memorial services for Emery will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Carol Baumgartner officiating. Inurnment will take place at Munterville Lutheran Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday, August 24 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Andrew Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. The family would like to extend their thanks to Emery's Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Wheaton Franciscan All Saints and Ridgewood Care Center for all of their compassionate care.
