Elton L. Dorval Racine- Elton L. Dorval, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at his home.Elton was born in Racine on March 21, 1930 to Lawrence and Ruth (nee: Ketz) Dorval. He served his country in the United States Navy. Elton worked as a commercial Artist at S.C. Johnson Wax, retiring in 1993. Elton was a talented artist. He was a watercolor painter winning awards for his work. A collector of comic art also having his own comic strips. A gifted artist he created a Racine map for tourists. Elton also loved the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Elton was one of the Founders of Salmon Unlimited and a member of the Fifth Street Yacht Club. He liked to spend time at his cabin up north and picking berries. His garden produced wonderful tomatoes that he canned. Elton traveled and enjoyed seeing numerous different places. He was also a member of the computer club at Parkside. He was a computer enthusiast and was perfecting another talent restoring old photos. Elton enjoyed life and was a 'kid at heart.'He is survived by his wife, Josey Dorval; children, Lawrence Dorval, Stephanie (Skip) Weidner, and Aimee (Dolph) Singstock; step children, Mark Remster, Robert (Becky) Remster, Rhonda (Tom) Christensen, and Rachel (Richard Krewal) Remster; grandchildren, Benjamin (Erica) Dorval, Joshua and Alison Dorval, Anthony, Matthew, and Andrew Weidner, Rebecca (Brian) Pulda, Kevin Singstock, Ethan Remster, Christopher, Lydiana, and Ivan Remster and great grandchildren, Nathan Pulda and Barrett Dorval. Elton is also survived by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ann; son, Barrett Dorval and brothers, Duane and Gene Dorval.Funeral services for Elton will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Stobba, O.S.A officiating. Private family interment will take place. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
