RACINE – Elsie T. Halbur, 91, passed away at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Elsie was born in South Milwaukee on July 7, 1925 to Azar and Manam (nee, Zakian) Torosian. She married Ben W. Halbur in Waukegan, IL in 1949. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2006. Elsie was a member of St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church. Survivors include her son, Roger (Cora) Halbur; grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Halbur-Stegall and Karen (Rey) Iruegas; great grandchildren, Jack Austin, Mason Ben, Madelyn Elizabeth and Mila Raelyn; sisters, Margaret (Roger) Lebon, Sophie Mason, Nora (Ron) Soens, Rose Ward, Alice (Richard) O'Brien and George (Laura) Torosian. Elsie is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by parents; sister and two brothers-in-law, Lucy and George DeGroot, and Bruce Ward. Funeral services for Elsie will be held at St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 4605 Erie Street, on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m.
