Ellen H. Spodick Racine - Ellen H. (nee, Sustachek) Spodick, 86, passed away at Villa St. Anna on Sunday, February 25, 2007. Ellen was born in Racine on July 2, 1920 to August and Louise (nee, Peterka) Sustachek. She married Rudolph A. Spodick on August 23, 1941. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2003. Ellen was a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. She was also a lifelong member of the Tabor Turner Girls and the Racine Pigeon Auxiliary, but most of all she was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her children, Caroline (Wayne) Kuehneman, James (Lisa) Spodick and Joseph (Tammy) Spodick; daughter in law, Paula Spodick; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, Calvin (Marilyn) Sustachek and Clyde (Margie) Sustachek; sister in law, Mary Jane (Alfred) King; and special friends, Helen and Sherman Groenke. Ellen is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Spodick on February 22, 2006. Funeral services for Ellen will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Rev. M.A. Miritz officiating. Interment will follow at Bohemian National Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 pm and on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
